Casa Cares near Reggello, Italy
Join counseling graduate students, counselors, and counseling program faculty members from throughout the United States for a two-week study institute in which counseling practices in Italy will be compared and contrasted to counseling in the United States. Italian mental health professionals (including counselors, psychiatrists, and social workers) will give presentations to participants. In addition, American faculty members will lead seminars related to their specialties in counseling.
Hear a counselor in private practice in Florence explain how he first learned about counseling, how he created a graduate degree for himself that prepared him to be a counselor, and how he is now leading a movement in Italy to provide recognition for counselors. This counselor and other Italian mental health professionals will share their experiences.
