Sport Management Minor
The sport management program is designed to prepare individuals for managerial positions within sport-oriented organizations such as college and university athletics, professional sport teams, amateur sport organizations, sport arenas and facilities, sport event management, sport marketing agencies, recreational sports management, health and fitness clubs, sporting goods industry, sport entrepreneurship, etc.
For completion of a minor, a student must have a minimum overall cumulative grade point average of 2.00 in all courses taken toward the minor (2.75 for teacher licensure with no less than C- earned in all core courses) and complete a minimum of six hours in upper-level courses in the minor requirement through courses offered by Old Dominion University.
The sport management minor, consisting of 15 credits taken in the sport management program, includes the following courses:
